Writing Traits Activities
There are three separate pages for the writing traits activities.
- The first page is dedicated to ideas for writing. All of the ideas are based on The Hello, Goodbye Window. In the ideas for writing page there are three separate activities. With the first writing ideas activity, you will write a letter to your grandparents expressing your love and gratitude for them or describing a favorite memory. The second writing ideas activity focuses on the importance of the "window." Through this writing activity, you will explore the importance of the an element that holds the same importance for you at your grandparents house. For the third writing ideas activity you will write a story explaining your favorite memory with your grandparents.
- The second page is a word choice activity for you to complete. With this word choice activity, you will be writing similes.
- The third page is a voice activity where you will introduce your family members in a manner that is representative of The Hello, Goodbye Window. With this activity you will collect a picture(s) of his or her grandparents, relatives, and/or parents that would be okay to keep in the classroom. With the photos, you will write a paragraph about why these people are important in your life. Once you have completed this, you will complete their own "page" in a classroom scrapbook.
