Let Your Voice Shine!
For this activity, you are going to bring in a several pictures (at least two) of your grandparents, relatives, and/or parents that would be okay to keep for the rest of the year. With each photo, you are to attach a paragraph about why these people are an important part of your life. This is an opportunity for you to expressive your individuality and diversity. You will share their photos and why these people are important with the class, parents, or grandparents. After you have presented your photos, you will create your own "page" in a scrapbook. All of the pages will be collected to create a classroom album that will show the immense diversity of classroom families.

- Check with your parents to make sure it is okay to use these pictures for this activity.
- Write a paragraph (at least three sentences) about the pictures and why these people are important in your life.
- Share the pictures and paragraphs!
- Create your own page in the classroom scrapbook.

This is a picture of my mother's side of the family. These relatives are very important to me. My mother is the oldest of her siblings. She has three younger brothers and one younger sister. We are a very close family that spends a lot of time together. This photo was taken on our family vacation in North Carolina this summer. I love spending a week with my family and taking this vacation every year!
